Spotlight on the Board!

PRESIDENT:John Bechtel
John Bechtel – Hi, I'm John Bechtel, the current president of the Capital City Corvette Club. My wife Sandy and I have been members since early 2002. When we joined the club, we owned a '95 torch red coupe. It has been replaced with a '04 spiral gray convertible. I previously held the positions of public relations director and ambassador to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The CCCC is a club founded in the idea of great people having good fun with cool cars. We do everything from racing to showing or cruising – and anything in between. If you're not a current member of the club but need a place to exercise your Corvette, please consider joining us at some of the events listed in our monthly newsletter. If you have as much fun as I think you will, membership is only a short application away.

Welcome.

Rich Bratschi GOVERNOR / VICE PRESIDENT:
Rich Bratschi – Hello. My name is Rich Bratschi. My wife Colleen and I have been members of CCCC since 1999. Owning and driving a Corvette had been a dream of mine since I was a kid; so, I am now kind of living one of my dreams. It seems all of us in this club have similar feelings and aspirations about our cars and time. It's what makes membership in this club special. I look forward to serving the club this year, and have high expectations of fun and camaraderie.

Gary WymaCOMPETITON DIRECTOR:
Gary Wyma – My wife Kathy and I have been members of CCCC for about five years. We have a 2002 convertible, which is the third Corvette we've owned together. I bought my first Corvette, though, in 1958 when I was 17 years old. It was a 1957 convertible that I sold when it was time to go to college. Since returning to this area, we have again enjoyed owning sports cars. Sharing our love of Corvettes with the other members of this club has been great fun.

I previously served the club as the public relations director, and look forward to the new challenge of being your competition director.

Chris BurkeEDITOR:
Chris Burke – My husband Terry and I live in Williamston and have two teenage sons, Taylor and Kyle. We own a 1992 dark red Corvette convertible, which we purchased in 2003.

Since joining CCCC in 2004, we have been involved as workers and chair persons in many club events and activities. I find volunteering for community events especially enjoyable and rewarding, and really appreciate all the fun events we attend with our fellow club members.

This is my second year as newsletter editor.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR:
Colleen Bratschi Colleen Bratschi – I have been a member of CCCC since 1999. During my first year, the club put on the national convention in Bellaire, MI. What a way to get my feet wet! For the next three years I was the club's treasurer (must be the banking in my blood).

For a few years I resisted holding a board position, because we were building a new home and our daughter was graduating from high school. Our home is now completed and our daughter is off to college. I stepped forward when the membership director position vacated a couple years ago, as I feel I can again give my all as a board member.

POINTS DIRECTOR:
Carrie HuttonCarrie Hutton – My name is Carrie Hutton. I have been a member of CCCC since 2003. I have a wonderful friend named Gary, one "Future Corvette Owner" – Kevin, age 12, and one child who thinks she is going to own my Corvette – Kaitlyn, age 16. I LOVE driving my 2003 50th anniversary coupe. I also enjoy sharing that experience with other Corvette owners.

I look forward to my second year as our points director, and to again work with the board and club members to make this a great club for all members. I will be volunteering for as many events as my time will allow, and hope to see you all at these events.

PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR:
Bob MaynardBob Maynard – Shalimar and I have been members of CCCC for the past 5 years, and have watched the club grow from only 29 members. We have a 2000 white pearl convertible we truly enjoy, having taken many trips with club members. We also recently purchased a 1964 project Corvette.

During the past 15 years, I have been an insurance agent and registered securities advisor. I've had over 30 years of business-management experience.

I previously served the club as treasurer, and look forward to beginning my second term as public relations director.

SECRETARY:
Sandy BechtelSandy Bechtel – My husband John and I have been members of the club since 2002, and own a '04 spiral gray convertible. Although I have participated in many club events over the years, this is my first time serving as a board member. I look forward to being the club's secretary this year, and to sharing great times with everyone.

SOCIAL DIRECTOR:
Kathy WymaKathy Wyma – Gary and I have been members of CCCC for about five years. The time spent with other members has been great! We've met so many wonderful people while participating and helping in club events. I am also very proud to belong to a club that is involved with fund raising and giving back to the community.

This is my second year as social director. Ummmm, you might ask what experience I have in this area. Well, let me expound. For several years I had the privilege of being the "Parsonage Queen" and "First Lady" of several congregations, serving along side Chappy. These positions certainly gave me the "opportunity" to be very creative when entertaining, planning programs and parties, and feeding the masses. For more than 22 years, I have also enjoyed being a wedding coordinator and running my own small business.

I certainly will do my best to deliver interesting activities during this second year as your social director, continuing with the ever-popular "drive and dines". I will also be glad to assist anyone who might want to volunteer to chair a social event.

TREASURER:
Carol Putmon Carol Putmon - My name is Carol Putmon. Randy and I have been members of CCCC for five years. We own a 1991 coupe and a 2000 convertible (which we purchased this past April). We have met so many nice people through this club, and have had a lot of fun.

Randy and I have been married for 24 long…….years, have 4 grown children, and will soon be welcoming our 8th grandchild into the family. We also have a spoiled dog (boxer) named Sonny. I have worked for Meijer as a produce buyer assistant for 25 years, and am looking forward to retirement – hopefully, within the next 10 years.

Randy and I are the owners of several rental properties, which keeps me busy.
